We contribute to local charities. We try to minimize our carbon output as we operate the largest solar farm in Winnipeg on the roof or our storage building.
Do you have any extra fees?
No, there are no extra fees for administration, cleaning deposits or other charges, or for changing your unit size. You do not have to choose between getting a discount or using our FREE truck. No surprises.
How do I rent a storage unit?
You can rent a storage unit on-line here, call us or stop by during our office hours.
How much does it cost for self-storage?
The prices vary depending on the size and type of storage unit you rent. Always check our specials to see if there are any units being offered at a discount. Rent on-line to receive a FREE lock.
How does the BOGO--Second Month Free storage discount work?
We offer the second month free on select units. If you choose one of those units you pay for one month’s rent when you move in and receive a credit for the second month. In the third month, you begin to pay on a regular monthly schedule.
How does month to month rates compare to week to week rates?
Be careful in comparing prices between month to month versus week to week.
Experts say to pay your mortgage bi-weekly rather than monthly, to save yourself money. The two extra mortgage payments a year go straight to YOUR bottom-line knocking years and interest $$$ off your mortgage. So, why should you pay your storage company every week, and let them increase their bottom line?
Remember look after your bottom line—not your storage company’s.
Can I change my storage unit size later?
We will be happy to help you select a unit that better fits your needs.
What is the minimum / maximum amount of time I can store for?
The minimum time is as little as one month—there is no maximum. We have clients who have been storing with us since we opened in 2005. The storage lease renews on the same date of the month that you moved in.
Do you supply moving services?
You can still take advantage of the savings self-storage offers compared to a moving company and not have to move yourself. We have contacts with affordable, professional movers that are highly recommended by our customers who can move your belongings.
How does it work for renting the FREE truck?
There is no rental charge for the first 4 hours to use the truck to move into a storage unit. There are no fuel charges. There are no pick-up, drop off or administration fee charges. There is a $20 insurance fee and a nominal $1.10/km.
Use of the truck is not dependent on whether one books a storage unit on special.
What about insurance?
For extra peace of mind, you can obtain self-storage insurance through palcanada.com if your goods are worth storing, they are worth insuring.
Who will have access to my unit?
Only you, the lease holder, and anyone else that you specifically authorize on your lease may have access to your storage unit.
Do I need my own lock?
Obviously, you must lock your unit. We require a specialized bezel lock on your unit that is designed specifically for our storage door latches. The lock cannot be cut or picked. And, it is FREE when you move-in online. This policy does not stop you from using an additional lock of your own on the storage unit.
What can I not store?
You cannot store live or dead animals, flammable materials, or anything illegal. Please carefully examine the rental agreement for complete details on what you can store.
